New Earrings in my Etsy Store

DSC_6682 DSC_6683 DSC_6684 DSC_6689 DSC_6675Making earrings with Lampwork glass can be a little tricky….there is often a design temptation to use lots of different beads together but the Lampwork bead often just needs to be the total focal so it doesn’t get lost.  Sterling always compliments handmade glass so you can’t go wrong using it.  Everything in my designs is handmade from my own lamp work glass to the ear wires.

Do you enjoy making earrings?  I do sell the glass alone so just let me know if you just need the glass.  Here is a little trick I often use when dealing with the larger holes left by my 3/32 mandrel used when making my Borosilicate Glass Beads.

#1 The hole is so large in the glass bead that the headpin just goes right through.
Solution: IMG_4331add a little sterling disk – creates a “stopper” for your bead and looks beautiful too!

#2 Bead is a sloppy fit on the Sterling Post….isn’t snug

Solution: IMG_4334#8 Seed Beads!  YEAH!  Super easy….and as an added bonus, if your bead is a see through one – select seed beads to add more color/metallic shine from inside for an even more cool look.

IMG_4335Let the Lampwork bead slide over the #8’s and finish the top of the earring as you want.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.
