Invented in Japan in 1990, it's great for making jewelry, beads, and small sculptures. Shape it by hand or with molds. While firing in my kiln the binder burns away, revealing pure Fine Silver metal! This amazing project should come with a warning label because it is so addicting! Bonus…once you learn how you can totally do this in your own home. No kiln? No worries, I offer a kiln firing service here for a small fee so you can drop off your treasures and pick them up the next week.
Beginner Precious Metal Clay – Charms & Pendants
Level 1 Fine Silver Clay Class
Get creative with our Silver Clay Charms & Pendants class!
Make several charms using fine silver clay, enough or 5 or more pieces depending on size. No metal clay experience needed. Simply come back to A Touch of Glass the following week to pick up your finished treasures. Previous students are welcome for a refresher or just to create more unique charms.
Please allow up to 3 hours for this class. Minimum 2 people – Maximum 8.
No previous jewelry making experience is necessary. Ages 16 and above please. 18 and under need to be accompanied by an adult. All materials and tools are supplied here at the studio.

Join our Level 2 Silver Clay class and create a stunning, unique ring from Fine Silver Clay! We'll provide the bling and plenty of embellishments for you to choose from. You can design your ring in any style that suits you. I'll show you the basics, then you can let your creativity run wild. My example rings are just to inspire you!
