Pewter — Pressed with History
These pewter pieces are created using antique reproduction dies from Potter USA—tools rooted in early American jewelry making.
Many of these designs trace back over 100 years, originally hand-carved into steel and pressed using immense force. That same process is still part of my work today, using a 20-ton press to bring these historic patterns back to life.
A recent feature in Smithsonian Magazine highlights the incredible history behind these tools and the craftsmanship they represent.
Lead Free…Pewter’s charm comes from its distinct look. It has a soft, silvery-gray color that can be either shiny or have an antique feel. Pewter doesn’t tarnish easily, so it stays shiny with little care, ideal for daily wear.
Dating back to ancient Egypt, ornate pieces of jewelry worn by Egyptian royalty have been discovered!
Pewter is also hypoallergenic, making it a great option for those allergic to metals like nickel. It’s affordable, offering the elegance of expensive metals without the high price.
